AEO/GEO/ AI SEO is just basically base SEO. (You may see some grammar mistakes, because this is not an AI generated blog).

SEO and GEO have the basic principles, if you perform good in basics then you will do also good in the GEO part, but they are the same thing.

SEOAI search

Difference between these terms?

Yeah you heard it right, these terms AEO/GEO/ AI SEO is basically just SEO, yeah some new tactics like: adding a simple explanation or introduction so the opening of a blog, article, faq page so the AI can parse the text easier and understand the intent behind the blog and can cite the page when someone prompts the LLMs, but overall the simple SEOs strategies remain the same.

When someone says AEO/GEO/ AI SEO search optimization sometimes I think, yeah maybe they know that this is just basically SEO, but they label it with these cute names, so they can sell it as an upsell or influence the buying decision makers.

Yeah the search is changing and people now are using also LLMs like ChatGpt, Claude, Grok, Perplexity, and the best optimized, I mean optimized in the technical part, the google page speed insights are all in green dots and the GTmetrix says the grade A, but still this is not enough, yeah the page loads faster and the CLS is 0, this means content does not jump around when the page is loading, especially in mobile devices, but that is still not enough, and you are reading this and thinking WHY?

Basic SEO Techniques

Because sometimes the content is holding back, you still hold on to the keyword research and put a lot of keywords in the blog post, landing page or in a particular page, and google algorithms marks your website as a spamy website that is trying to manipulate rankings, but still if you put keywords in a good and natural way, in today world that still is not enough, yeah these techniques used to work back in the past like 5 years ago, the strategy of the keyword placements was like this: you do the keyword research, you decide to go with a transactional keyword, lets say a keyword like: “Digital Marketing Services (your city)” and you put the keyword in the meta title, meta description, in the url, then in the H1, H2, in the beginning of the introduction text.

Where to put the keywords?

Then you put the keyword or a variant of the keyword in the title of the image like for example, this is an image of the digital marketing service, and you write the image like this: marketing-service.png or you convert it to webp which is better for better speed and almost all browsers support this type of file of an image, also Alt text should represent the image, not necessarily contain the keyword, but if the image lets say represent the agency, yeah you can include the keyword, but if the image represents completely something else then, yeah do not keyword spamm, one thing I forgot to mention, you can use tinypng.com tool to compress images for better page speed, rule of thumb, try to keep most of your images under 100 KB.

Also the myth of the content should be long enough, it was called Sky Scraper Content, like it has to be the longest content in the internet online for that topic, for example i remember when I used to do keyword research for topic like: digital marketing services, and for example the content must have been long long enough, that was used to work in the past, but that does not mean in todays digital marketing world that the content must bee long enough or the longest one.

How long the content should be ?

On how long the content should be, it all depends on the intent behind it and what user is looking for, if it is an example a question like: how to compress an image, the content should not be 2000 words long, while the answer and the blog can be short and to the point answering the users question like: yes you use this tool and this tool, you convert the image from png to webp and use tools like tiny png and explain shortly how to upload the image to the wordpress, that is short and to the point, you do not have to write a long blog for it.

Then write the heading in this format, from H1, to H2, and include also some other H2s if you need to, and H3 if the H3 is a subtitle to the H2, and it is recommended for each page that it should be onlt one H1 per page, based on the best Google Practices.

To finish this article, including the google on page SEO best practices, I wanna also include an important thing that people usually get it wrong, content aligment with the intent behind it.

If it is question that people ask, your content must be aligned and write an answer for these people that are looking for an answer, and if the keyword is more a buy intent like: SEO Agency “your city”, then it should not be a blog writing for the best SEO agencies, but the page should be a landing page, because you are trying to conver the users and also people are looking for SEO Agencies services.

Then you use a featured image, that is a good strategy to do, it has some mini benefits that compunds in the long run. Also you can show up in google images search, so images also gets indexed, then use images or videos in the page, so if you have a question in a block of text, you use an image to represent the text.

These are the basic tactics, but purely they are more focused on the On Page SEO part, so if you do the basics and you include some new tactics like an summary of the blog at the top, yes sometimes that summary can be cited but overall if you get the basics right then you will also perform good in AI Search.
