The curriculum

10 modules, 30 lessons. Taught in the order you should do the work, which is not the order it is usually taught in.

  1. 01

    Planning the website

Turn the business goal into pages, navigation and a build plan before opening WordPress.

    • Defining the visitor, the action and the job of each page
    • Creating a sitemap and navigation that stay simple
    • Gathering content and assets before they block the build
  2. 02

    Domains, hosting and WordPress

Set up the foundation properly so the site is secure, recoverable and easy to move.

    • Choosing hosting without paying for features you do not need
    • Connecting DNS, enabling HTTPS and installing WordPress
    • Staging sites, email and the settings to fix immediately
  3. 03

    Themes, blocks and plugins

Choose a lean stack and understand what belongs in each layer.

    • How themes, templates, blocks and plugins fit together
    • Choosing between the block editor and a page builder
    • Evaluating a plugin before trusting it with the site
  4. 04

    Design system

Create a consistent visual language before designing individual pages.

    • Typography, colour, spacing and content width
    • Reusable buttons, cards and section patterns
    • Responsive design from mobile to desktop
  5. 05

    Building the essential pages

Build the pages a professional business website actually needs.

    • Homepage structure that explains the offer quickly
    • Service, about and contact pages
    • Headers, footers, navigation and reusable templates
  6. 06

    Content and media

Make publishing straightforward without letting images or formatting slow the site down.

    • Posts, pages, categories and custom content
    • Preparing and compressing images for the web
    • Accessible headings, links, alt text and readable copy
  7. 07

    Forms and useful integrations

Connect the website to the business without collecting more data than you need.

    • Contact and enquiry forms that reliably deliver
    • Analytics, maps, social profiles and email marketing
    • Spam protection, consent and privacy basics
  8. 08

    WordPress SEO

Give every page a clean technical and on-page foundation before it is indexed.

    • Titles, descriptions, headings and internal links
    • Permalinks, canonicals, sitemaps and structured data
    • Local SEO setup for service businesses
  9. 09

    Performance and security

Keep the build fast and reduce the most common WordPress risks.

    • Caching, fonts, images and Core Web Vitals
    • Updates, users, permissions and login protection
    • Backups, restores and what to do when something breaks
  10. 10

    Testing, launch and maintenance

Launch with a checklist, then keep the site healthy without constantly rebuilding it.

    • Testing devices, browsers, forms, links and redirects
    • Moving from staging to the live domain safely
    • A monthly maintenance routine and handover checklist

Why this exists

WordPress makes it easy to create a page. That is not the same as making it easy to build a good website. The difficult part is knowing what to install, what to leave out, how to structure the pages and how to launch without discovering that the site is slow, fragile or impossible to maintain.

This bootcamp teaches the complete build, in order. You begin with a blank plan and end with a live website you understand — not a template held together by plugins you are afraid to update.

How it is taught

Every module moves the same website closer to launch. I explain the decision, make it on the site, show the common mistakes, and then give you the matching task on your own build. The checklists and templates are designed to be reused on the next website as well.

The goal is not to memorise where WordPress keeps every setting. It is to learn a process you can repeat even when the theme, host or client changes.

Who is teaching it

I build WordPress websites from scratch and work across the parts that decide whether they succeed after launch: structure, design, performance, SEO, security and ongoing maintenance. This course packages that practical workflow so you can build independently and know when a shortcut will cost more later.

Who it's for

This is for you if

  • You want to build your own business, portfolio or client website from a blank installation
  • You know the WordPress dashboard but do not yet have a reliable start-to-finish process
  • You are a freelancer who wants to offer complete WordPress websites
  • You want to understand the decisions behind the build, not just copy a page on screen

It isn't, if

  • You only want a ready-made template with your logo swapped in
  • You need a complex custom web application rather than a content or business website
  • You want someone else to build and maintain the whole site for you

Pricing

Enrolment is not open yet. These are the tiers it will open at, so you can decide now whether it is for you.

Fourteen days. Start the course, and if it does not give you a clearer and more reliable way to build your website, email me for a full refund — no form and no questions.

Common questions

Do I need any coding experience?

No. The course explains the parts of HTML and CSS that are useful when WordPress settings are not enough, but you do not need to know how to code before starting.

Which theme or page builder does the course use?

The principles work with modern block themes and established page builders. I teach the WordPress concepts and the build process first, then show how to make the same decisions in the tools rather than making the course an advertisement for one theme.

Can I use this to build websites for clients?

Yes. Planning, staging, testing, launch and handover are taught as a repeatable client workflow, not only as a one-off personal project.

Will I build a complete website during the course?

Yes. The exercises take one site from its initial plan through setup, design, content, forms, SEO, performance, security and launch. You can use your real site as the project.

Does it cover ecommerce?

It covers the foundation every WordPress site needs. WooCommerce and full online-store operations are large enough to deserve a separate course, so they are not presented as a small bonus module here.

What costs are not included?

You will need a domain and hosting for a live website. Depending on the stack you choose, you may also decide to buy a premium theme or plugin. I show free and paid options and explain when paying is worthwhile.

How long will it take?

The lessons take around sixteen hours. Building alongside them usually takes two to four weeks, depending on how much content and design work your site needs.

How long do I have access?

Indefinitely, including updates when WordPress changes enough to affect the workflow.

Would you rather I just did it?

The bootcamp teaches the workflow. If you want it run on your site instead, that is a different conversation — and a shorter one.
